My Journey in Counselling

Throughout my career, I've had the privilege of working with clients facing a wide range of concerns, including:

  • Relationship Issues
  • Low Self-Esteem
  • Anxiety and Depression
  • Stress and Burnout
  • Addiction
  • Bereavement
  • Co-dependency

My early work in a women's counselling service laid the foundation for my Person-Centred approach, which prioritises the client's unique experiences and empowers them to find their own solutions. Seeking further expertise, I transitioned to a drug and alcohol service, where I developed my skills in Cognitive Behavioural Therapy (CBT) and Solution-Focussed Treatment to address the complex needs of clients.

Building on this approach, I moved to a role supporting young people as a school counsellor. This incredibly rewarding role allowed me to explore the use of creative expression, such as art and writing, as therapeutic tools. I worked with students in mainstream settings and those facing challenges within the traditional system.

Five years ago, I established my own private practice. And now, having relocated to Vietnam two years ago, I'm delighted to offer my services to English-speaking clients here.

I have had the privilege of working with many people over the years, accompanying them on their therapeutic journey to a happier more fulfilling life.

Therapeutic support is something many of us may need at some point in our life. Having therapy is about understanding, reflecting, processing and healing in a useful way, whatever is troubling you. It can bring about change, a fresh perspective, and relief from painful thoughts and feelings.

An Integrative Approach

My therapeutic approach is integrative, drawing primarily from Person-Centred principles. However, over the years, I've also cultivated expertise in CBT, Solution-Focussed Therapy, and Motivational Interviewing. This enables me to tailor my approach to your specific needs and preferences. It's about what works for you.

Furthermore, my interest in existential philosophy informs my practice. I believe in exploring unique, individualised approaches to your concerns, moving beyond a "one-size-fits-all" model. I'm always open to different ways of communicating and understanding your needs and wants, creating a collaborative space where your voice is heard and valued.

If you have ideas or approaches you'd like to explore, I'm eager to hear them and work with you holistically to integrate them into your therapy journey.

Working Together: A Collaborative Path to Healing

Our work together will be a collaborative effort, focused on addressing your concerns and empowering you to find your own solutions. In our sessions, you can expect:

  • An honest, caring, and non-judgmental space
  • The freedom to openly express your thoughts and feelings
  • Acceptance and trust – cornerstones of my therapeutic philosophy
  • A supportive partnership as we navigate your challenges together

Taking the first step towards seeking help is a significant accomplishment. By acknowledging your need for support, you've already begun your journey towards well-being. Talking to a professional counsellor can equip you with valuable tools and coping mechanisms to manage life's challenges and move forward with renewed strength and confidence.

I warmly invite you to contact me for a free initial consultation. This is an opportunity to discuss your needs in detail and see if my approach aligns with your goals.

Whether clients are based in the UK or Vietnam, the fee per session is the same: £60 or VNĐ 1.9m.
